Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Narriva text-to-speech service at narriva.org (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

The Service is operated by NEXX LAB TECHNOLOGIES S.R.L., a company registered in Romania ("we", "us", "our").

2. Service Description

Narriva is a text-to-speech API platform that converts web articles and text content into high-quality audio narrations. The Service includes the API, a management dashboard, and an embeddable audio player for use on third-party websites.

3. Account Registration

To use the full Service you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Convert content for which you do not hold the necessary rights or licences.
  • Generate audio for illegal, harmful, defamatory, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
  • Scrape, crawl, or programmatically extract data from the Service beyond normal API use.
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or any other technical measures.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

5. No AI Training on User Content

Narriva does not use content you submit, including article URLs, extracted text, or generated audio, to train, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model.

Your content is processed solely to deliver the narration you requested and is not retained or shared for model development purposes.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including source articles and the audio narrations generated from that content. By submitting content you confirm that you have the right to do so.

Our property: NEXX LAB TECHNOLOGIES S.R.L. retains all rights to the Service, including the API, the embeddable player, the dashboard, and all underlying technology and infrastructure. Nothing in these Terms grants you any licence to our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the Service as intended.

Third-party TTS provider: Audio generated by the Service is produced via ElevenLabs. Use of generated audio is also subject to ElevenLabs' terms of service.

7. Fees and Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. Fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of any price changes via email or within the dashboard.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements. Voice output quality may vary depending on input content and selected voice settings.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NEXX LAB TECHNOLOGIES S.R.L. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the dashboard or by contacting us at [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other legitimate operational reason. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Romania.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
